Honda NSX: Global financial crisis claims another victim

Barely a week after announcing it was withdrawing from the 2009 Formula One World Championship, Honda has made a second shock announcement with plans for the much anticipated second generation NSX supercar scrapped for the time being.

Blaming the global financial tsunami as the reason behind their unfortunate decision, Honda claims plans for the 418 kW V10 NSX, which was due to go on sale sometime in 2010, hasn’t been completely canned and development will resume once the car maker’s financial situation improves.
The NSX successor was widely tipped to follow the Nissan GT-R in challenging the traditional European marques in the performance stakes with a F1-inspired V10 engine developing as much as 418 kW.
