AdvanceTrac won't turn off

I am new to the Forum and I see many of the same issues in my 2002 V8. It is black with chrome wheels and I get compliments all the time. This forum has been very helpful and gives me hope I can hang on to this gorgeous car for awhile.

My problem is with AdvanceTrac. I got stuck in snow in a hotel parking lot this winter because I couldn't turn it off. Pushing the button did nothing. Any ideas on what to look for to fix it?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

Do you get any indication that pressing the button is doing something, such as the AdvanceTrac indicator lighting?

How did AdvanceTrac not turning off cause you to get stuck? I found it to be very helpful the few times I drove my 2004 V8 in the winter.

Rod,

I don't get any indication that pushing the button is doing anything. The light on the button is always off.

A heavy snowfall fell overnight while I was parked in the parking lot. I tried to get the wheels spinning to get out. When I stepped on the gas the wheels would momentarily spin and then AdvanceTrac kicked in which kept the wheels from moving. I agree, AdvanceTrac helps if I am already moving.

Thanks,
Paul

The button and button 'disable' indicator light both get their power from 5A fuse F2.05 in the Central Junction Box. Since you don't get an indication that the button is doing anything, I'd suggest you check that fuse first to see if there is power through it when the key is in the Run position. At the switch this wire will be the Green/White wire in terminal location 3.

Thanks, Rod. I will check the fuse this weekend while I also replace the evaporator air discharge temperature sensor. I am having the same problem your wife's 2002 had holding the HVAC temperature.
