Ok, so I figured out which are my TCCS and PCS solenoids and I have them in hand. I managed to get a dealer down here to make a copy of the GM tranny manual, valve body page. So from what I can see, the PCS and the TCCS go into the side of the valve body. So why is this tranny shop telling me the tranny must be dropped to change these? As I remember 99.9% of valve bodies are in the pan area and that's where the filter goes as well. Please.... ANYONE, if you have actually done your solenoids or have had them done and seen the setup, please let me know which is it? I have 1 tranny shop offering to do the job for 300 but another shop saying the tranny dosen't need to come down, just the valve body and if he's gonna do it, He's got an opening on Saturday, but I gotta let him know ASAP. The car is a 99 Lumina 3.8, 4t65-e. Thank you, anyone, in advance.

The shift solenoids in the 4T60E and 4T65E are in the valve body which is located under the side pan on the drivers side of transmission. The left CV axle must be removed and the cradle dropped a few inches for clearance.

Is that for the lock up solenoid? if so my friend and I just finished replacing the solenoid on my 92 Lumina with the 3 speed auto we did not have to remove the axle shaft just every thing that is in front of the side pan cover. We jacked up the car and the lifted the trans and engine to work the bracket that's in front of the whole thing make sure you have a gasket too mine riped.

Oh man, it's so good to have the Lumina I know back. No more dropping in and out of gear, instant shifts and accelleration out the *&^%!!! Also switched to Dexron 6 and a filter change as well. Well worth the $300.
