Will 3rd row seats in Uplander work in Venture?

Has anyone tried using the 3rd row seats from an Uplander in their Venture?

The main reason we were looking at this was for the middle persons shoulder belt for the 3rd row. We've got 5 kids & at a car seat inspection my wife asked what's a good solution for as they get older & out of child car seats. The best suggestion was look for a bigger/newer car as using lap belt only with children isn't really the safest. Unfortunately that's not a great option right now.

I've talked with a couple folks. The brackets on the floor & the seat brackets themselves appear to be the same design. We haven't been able to find one at the local dealer to test it. We just wanted to know for sure before looking for checking out the junkyards.

Yes the seats should fit your Venture. The Uplander is a "U" body van, the same as the Venture/Montana/Silhouette. The seats out of a 2005 and up Buick Terazza, Saturn Relay, and Pontiac Montana SV6 will also work.

fyi - we saw a 2005 Montana as a local lot and tried the 3rd row seats.

The seat and floor bracket on the front were redesigned and the newer seats won't fit. They'll click right into the back bracket fine, but the spacing of the front one is a little different and they won't settle in.

Oh well, nice try I guess.

Thanks for the update. This could help someone with the same question in the future.
Reading that doesn't surprise me that they would do something like that. Can't make it easy or inexpensive for owners to interchange parts between vehicles to save some money.
