99 grand prix GTP tensioner rattle

Hello i just purchased a 1999 grand prix gtp with 52000 miles on it and i have noticed a rattle sound coming from the tensioner. I have read that a lot of people are having trouble with their coupler in the supercharger but this rattle is coming from the tensioner it really only occures when i am at idle ie: less than 1000 rpm if i have my wife put the car in reverse and turn the wheele it gets louder. i have put my hand on the tensioner and when i hear the rattle i can feel it in the tensioner but not in the supercharger. has anyone else had this problem?

Remove the supercharger drive belt and then fire it up. If the noise is not present then it probably is the SC tensioner pulley. It is not uncommon to have a SC tensioner pulley go bad.
