Crude but Effective to make 92 db

Guys this isn't the prettiest solution but it absolutely works for those tracks that require us to meet 92 db. On SCCA race days Laguna Seca allows 103 db. My car makes that without the Supertrapps. On track days the same track requires 92 db. It's been a struggle getting there but this works without any power-loss. The shielding redirects the sound away from the meter. The 5 holes allow the car to breathe without back-pressure. I also left the nuts holding the 16 disks with about 1/4" play to the screws. This allowed the disks to float and additionally relieve back-pressure. A better solution would be to use washers between the disks, but this worked just fine.

Ingenious and fully reversable! It has a certain Road Warrior look to it as well.

It ain't pretty, but the instant reversibility, without even having to jack the car up was what I wanted. You may recall, that my first attempt at the unmodified Supertrapps caused the packing to blow out of my Magnaflows (see pic.). This makes sound with those same blown out Magnaflows. That's worst case scenario. It will obviously work for any functioning mufflers. BTW, the shield is only installed on the side where the sound meter is located. The look scares other cars out of trying to pass. :bananasmi It's a little like Ben Hur's spikes on his chariot. I digress!!

I'll replace the Magnaflows when I put in my new engine, very soon. Until them I'll run them since they have a lifetime warranty and can be returned at any time.

SCAREY!!!!! They would never allow that sucker in SCCA, NASA, etc..... maybe on a luner lander....lmao

I think squerly said it best "Good lord almighty, that's some scary looking stuff Wess."

A+ for effort and what the hell it worked!!!!!!

I can't argue with any of your comments. Definitely not legal for SCCA days, but luckily 92 db isn't required.
Give me a break here guys. I saw cars attaching clothes dryer sheet-metal swivel joints. This is downright high tech compared to those guys.
