I'm curious if anyone here has tried replacing their tailight/brakelight bulbs with the LED bulbs that are available, and what their experience was with those LEDs. Thanks.

i've seen them on later model commercial trucks.... as well as passenger vehicles that come standard w/ them
they work if they're clustered better and uses less electricity... so it's a win-win
unless the costs is more than the standard light bulb... its up to you

I've been using LED's for about 12 years now on a bus fleet and have realized a reduction in labor and repair cost's by about 95%. initial cost's are higher but in long run pay out. Luminousity is also increased which is a safety factor for us. Incandecent bulbs blow and thats it, where an LED may have several diodes fail but they continue to illuminate. LED's generally have a life time warranty.
The only disadvantage that some replacement LED's carry is that in some cases (side view) is not as superior as an incandecent bulb.
