Ihave a 97 f-350 7.3 last year i switch to synthetic oil in hopes to find some mpg now i want to go back to regular rotella is the any problem in that i heard it bad for the seals any imput is great thanks inadvance:shakehead

Every oil company and brands have unique detergents and sealing properties. Oils in general are made up of different base stocks and then the additives are added.
Any oil Guru will tell you to stay with one specific brand. Changing oils (different brands ) will have negative affects on your engines wear and sealing capabilities.
I run a fleet of vehicles and recently we obtained new 07 diesel emission engines which we require the latest CJ-4 rating. I was not happy that the current oil that I was using, was not going to be updated. We switched oils and are crossing our fingers now. The new diesel engines are using EGR & Cat's and if you don't use the right oil you will ruin these new components and the cost's involved are unbelievable.
It's a hard chioce, but stick with one brand designed for your vehicle.

I was thinking more about your oil choice situation. I would find an oil that has the CJ-4 rating and is available to you through several suppliers. My rational thoughts on this is if you decide to buy a newer vehicle and keep the existing one you'll need an oil that will work for both.
In 2010 an even stricter emissions laws come to fruition. Manufacturers are working on UREA injection, double EGRs and variable geometry turbo's, Cats that require special lubricants as well.
Here in New York they are already pulling trucks over and sniffing the pipes.
We switched from Exxon xhd3 - mobil Delvac 1300 super. Check your Rotella to see if they plan to upgrade to the CJ-4.

I used shell rottelia oil before and plan on going back to normal oil insted of shell rottelia T sythetic because of cost its over 100$ to do a oil change but i go 10.000 on the oil and change the filter at 5000 has any one heard of compication in a switch back

Well, you switched oil when the engine was 10 years old or so. Didn't cause you any problems then, did it?
