91 hatchback dx 5-speed, stock with 167000 miles and a straight body for 1500. how many miles can i expect out of a well taken care of civic before i start replacing stuff, even though that is a good, just not yet.

I bought a 90 DX 5-speed with coil overs, tokico gas shocks and exhust for only $500. There was also a Si ECU in the back which will come in handy when i do MPFI. The body was in okay shape, nothing too serious. The interior was in good shape except for a ripped drivers seat.

So, to me $1500 really is over priced, unless it was swaped or something.

if the body is mostly rust free yeah its not too shabby, its getting hard to find nice 4th gen any more

speaking of rust how do you get rid of it even tho my car has 2 little holes near the back wheels on each side from rust =\

and my stock rims are all fucking rusted but the place my mom works this old lady has a 90 hatch dx garage kept every day no rust paint looks brand new its automatic rims in perfect shape and check this only has 34k miles on it!

it really depends on where you live. on the east coast cars are cheaper. in larger cities cars are cheaper. i live in a small town on the west coast and a good dx even with 160,000 would be around $2000

and by the way......i've had a 90 accord got to 305,000 when i sold it. it is still running strong. car will probably see 400,000 before it dies

dont forget our cars are 12+ years old... mileage sometimes doesnt matter when cars get old. I bought my 89 about 8 months ago, with 60,000 old lady KM's on it. things are starting to wear out i can tell. a driveshaft already went, oil pan leaks, balljoints etc etc etc. all very common stuff. and all those years of salt exposure really takes it's toll(if it's a northern car). good luck, they are great cars other than that, i love mine  .

You gotta love your 4G and do all the work on it yourself or you will never be able to afford it. Labor is BS!
