Check for flyers at hobby shops or in the newspaper.

You can find an extensive list of upcoming shows at the back of most model mags.

I wish there were more shows on the East Coast. I think that one day we should have an AF Car Modelling forum model show. I'd fly ANYWHERE to go and meet everone..and see everyones cars in person. Maybe some day it will happen.

thats not a bad idea. we should have an af model car show. that'd be cool. id lose bbad but it would be cool to meet some of the 12 year olds lurking around here. and the people 16 and up (older than me). should we suggest it?

i think we should sugjest it.. have a AF model meet... there might have to be two or more.. one in the states and one somewehre else... or find some show had have all the AF people go as a big club and dominate the show and a huge table... seems cool.

If there is a model enthusiast who has serious interest in leading and organizing such an event then I will do everything I can to help!

it wouldnt be freaky... we might steal Pman and make him teach us how to do the shine or fotw for his body kits. but its a good idea... though how many people here have enterd and won something in a model contest.... as of yesterday i won first place in the hobbytown usa local model contest.... for my catagory of passenger car moder... where i was the only entry WHOO HOOO. ill get pics of the other cars up later.... :smoka: :bandit: :sun:

An AF club stand is a great idea! We have as many if not more members than most clubs albeit worldwide but there's still sufficient numbers in the states alone.

Hmm, I would love the idea. There is only one problem..." Mum, can I have a couple thousand dollars to fly to somewhere I have never been before and meet a group of people I met on the internet?"

If we did do the idea, we would need to do it in groups, like all the Americans, and Canadians meet some where. Australian's and New Zelanders. Europeans. Asians.

Although I doubt something like this will ever happen, its a good thought

i would try to do it if there was some thing close to me, is there any thing in Atlanta GA?

i like the idea as well... maybe we could even have our "better" modelers on the site, to do hands on tutorials on how to paint, and etc.

HOW bout everyone whos interested, just say where they live , and maybe we could establish something?

Not an exhaustive list, but a pretty substantial one:

I live in Cincinnati but I would be willing to undertake such an event! I had the pleasure of meeting SpoonManDos this past Saturday at a model contest in Dayton, Ohio (45 minutes to an hour away). It was really cool to meet a fellow AFer! :) We naturally had the best models on the table!;) we were outdone by somebody that entered a die-cast F&F Eclipse! :( but it was fun to see everybody ogling our models and asking how we did this and that! If anybody's interested in another meet-up, let me know and I'll do what I can to make it!
