Worn Distributor Gear

I own a 2001 S-10 with a 4.3. At around 110,000 km's I had to replace the dist gear, as the teeth were worn out. Since then I have had to replace it 3 more times (now 180,000 km's)....can anyone help? I haven't had the camshaft checked, but my mechanic says the distributor seems fine.....

What kind of wear pattern on gear?
Can you post a picture of it?
Are you using good GM oem GEARS?

WHAT WEIGHT OIL AND HOW IS THE OIL PRESSURE?

Bear in mind the dist gear also turns the oil pump shaft and oil pump?

I would try a good quality rebuilt dist first.

Wear I belive tends to happen to one side....I'll confirm

5W30, oil pressure normal (low at idle, otherwise fine)
