Battery wont charge?

I have 1982 2.5 944,the problem started when my battery would nt hold its charge.I bought a new battery and still the same so i bought a new alternator and still the same. When doing a voltage test im only getting just under 12v instead of the average 14v.I have checked all fuses but i have noticed i no longer get the battery warning light on my dash period even when you initially turn on the ignition,all that illuminated is the parking light? Any ideas?
