I am looking to get a BMW soon because I have several friends that have them and I love the way they are made! I'm looking at getting a 2 door 3 series in the mid 90s, I'm also looking for a price under $10,000. So I just don't a whole lot about them and what I could expect to pay. Any help is great

You need to decide if you want a 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder engine.
The 4's are cheaper, the 6's are more highly regarded.
The 6 was increased in displacement from 2.5 to 2.8 in 1997 (hence the 328i vs. the 325i).
I think the 1997 2.8 liter 6-cyl cars are running around $17,000 in good shape. Knock off a thou or 2 for each year you go back.

Thanks, yeah, I think that I'll probably try to go the 325is route. There are a few within a 200 mile radius that are reasonable. The trick is finding low mileage. But if that fails, there are a ton of 318s, that's what my friend has, I would just rather have more hp, and I know with those highly tuned BMW 4's that it's hard to get much more out of them without supercharging. It's not like the prelude I have now, not that I don't like my lude, I think I'm just ready to upgrade to a V6. Thanks, Stefan

Don't discount the 318's as just being underpowered to the 325's. They will outhandle a 325, so there's give and take to everything.
I went to buya 325, and after test driving it and then test driving a 318ti, went home with the 318.
