That happened to me when the drain tube for my a/c evaporator was plugged up. Are you sre it only happens when it rains? Do you have your a/c on?

I happened to mine, exactly like that, only when it rained hard. It was the weatherstrip under the windshield. It is under the cover of the space between the windshield and the firewall, where the wipers "rest". Of course, on the passenger side. This weatherstrip is there to avoid water coming in the A/C intake. If you figure out how to take the wiper arms out, only like 6-8 screws separate you from fixing it with some good silicone. Of course, counting it is a 97-2003 Grand Prix, like mine. Good luck!!

If you are going to get a new winshield soon, just let them know to fix that for you when that happens. I was not able to take the wiper arms out, so I went to to glass shop, the guy took those wipers out and did exactly what I was going to do, only thing I did not know how to do it. Then, couple of months later I had to go back to replace my windshield!! Hehehehe, so. You can kill both birds on one shot if you like. Of course, you can DIY, it provides more satisfaction, instantly.

any clue why when i turn on the a/c it blows hot on the drivers side and cold on the pass side and the temp dial are both on 60 but for some reason its hot on my side?????

On that one, I'll take a guess because my GT is single zone A/C. But sounds like an electric malfunction, most likely the driver's side temp knob switch needs to be replaced, but check first on an electric shop. My A/C fan stopped working when set to the 1 dial, it was the resistence switch. Your's 10 years young, the weather strip and the A/C issue happen to mine last year, he's a 98.

For this issue, as I said, I'am guessing with what I know about cars and what you've explained. Most likely there is somebody here in the community that has experienced it and if you create a separate post with it in the title, you'll get a better answer. Good luck and hope this helped.

On the water issue, the wipers do not need to be removed to access the cowl cover seal. I would suggest buying a cabin air filter for a like year Regal (as the spot is there for one but GM never installed them on the GP's for some odd reason so the parts stores don't list one for a GP) and put that in there as well while you have the cover off fixing the cowl seal. The cabin air filter helps channel water better, and will also protect your blower motor and blower speed control module from dust and debris.
On the temp issue, I will assume by your comment in post #9 you have the dual auto climate control. you could have one of two problems.
1. There are two separate temperature actuator motors, one for each side. The driver's side actuator may be bad and isn't moving the deflectorto block off air passing through the heater core.
2. Your A/C system is low on refrigerant. The way the evaporator core is designed, as refrigerant levels get low, only half of the evaporator core gets cold, and that happens to be the 1/2 for the passenger side. Even on non-dual zone vehicles, when refrigerant gets low, they will blow cold on the passenger side and warm on the driver side when the temp selector is set to cold.

I have a '98 GTP and have delt with both of these issues. For the water leak, it is an easy fix. The philips screws that hold the plastic cover down under your wipers are not screws, they are pushed in and popped out. When I removed my plastic cover, I saw the weatherstrip hanging down. I took it out, cleaned it up with silicone spray, re-crimped the edge that attaches it to the car and put it back. No time at all. For the dual temperature issue, that's a different story. It sounds like you want heat to come out of both, but it's not coming out of the passenger side. I think I had the same issue. These are little motors that are controlled by the computer and are adjusted with the knobs. They can get out of wack. Try pulling the fuse for your HVAC inside your glovebox. Lower the glovebox down completely and look inside there. You will see the motor for the passenger side. When you pull and then re-insert your fuse, you will see it inititialize. If it turns out to not move all the way, it could have a broken gear inside it. I took mine out and opened it up to reveal a white gear that was splined into a shaft and was split. This split was interfering with another gear that was driven by the motor. I went to the Pontiac dealer to inquire about a new motor and they wanted $275. I told the guy thankyou very much and have a nice day, and went back home and removed the gear off of the spline, rotated it around 180 degrees and put it back on. I then put everything back together and it works great. Too bad I wasted some gas going to the dealer. If it's the motor on the driver's side, be prepared to use a few choice swear words while your'e upside down doing the job by feel. It can be done though. I think my bad motor turned out to be the driver's side, so I swapped them, anticipating that I might have to deal with the bad one again at some point, and now it is easy to get to.
