General Question

I have a general question, I just purchased a 99' Chevy, a 93' Isuzu, and a 91' Toyota. I am in the midst of fixing these cars up and they all have a myriad of problems. Valves, cooling system, timing belt, alternator, intake, etc.

I don't want to buy 3 haynes manuals for each car. I want to know if there is a general "How to" set of videos that I can either legally download or buy, either on DVD or MP4, whatever. Something very comprehensive, like on www.expertvillage.com where I can get a basic how to step by step on just about every process I need to know. Please let me know, thanks!

I dont know of any general manuals that would cover American and Imports. Even the ones that aim to cover a range of American cars, like the old "Motor Manuals" - are lacking in detail as far as I am concerned. I basically want the most specific manuals possible for each of my cars: The OEM service manuals have always paid for their cost soon after buying them. I now usually buy them on ebay for the modern cars, and at antique car shows for my pre-war cars. For my newer cars, (87 & newer) I find it very worthwhile to have the exact wiring diagram for the car.

Your best bet is to buy the manual for each vehicle. I am aware of only one comprehensive how-to that covers what you need. It's called an associates degree in automotive technology. If you've got a couple years and several thousand dollars, go for it, otherwise buy the manuals :)

You can try this site, it starts you at the select year screen:

http://arrc.epnet.com/autoasp/index.asp?sid=28310284&uid=s8250929.main.autorefctr

It is a library site. Some vehicles are covered extremely well while others are not.

Hope it helps.
