That's a masterpiece! Can we have now a Dakar Mitsubishi? Or at least a 205?! :)

Hope you like the finished model!
I have to say that this is not an easy model to build, specially if you want to make an accurate replica. A lot of work must be done to the engine and interior to get it right, but Tamiya did a great job with the overall look of the car.
The key to build this car is RESEARCH. This is an old subject and good detail photos are not easy to find.
I want to thank all of your kind words and help during the modeling process.
Now, time to find some good photos of ELEANOR!! :iceslolan

Thanks for the nice words guys!! It's a pleasure to share this hobby with you!

The Mitsubishi is a cool idea!! I wonder if there's a 1:24 kit I could use as a base for this project...

Depends on the version (year).
There is a Tamiya Pajero (Paris - Cape Town) version.

You bet. That is great work. The engine-bay looks spot-on. All the work paid off.

Like a lot of others here, I've been watching your progress on this one for quite a while. It is truly impressive. I'm sure you'll win at the upcoming contest. But then you have to keep your promise and dirty that thing up!
I've built one of these and have two more in the stash. I'll keep a bookmark on your WIP thread for constant reference when building them in the future.
Thanks again for sharing a very enjoyable project.

Excellant finish, it truely looks awesome. Fantastic detailing, a realistic finish.
I do agree with the others that a litle bit of dirt would look good, but not too much.
Cant beleave that the undercarriage is bright blue!!!
Cant wait to see what you do next!!!

OOh no, no nooo...!!! Don't dirty this beauty !! :eek7:
I don't know if you care my opinion but wheatering this model is a no sens and a big risk to ruin it... :disappoin
Take a look at the pics I sent to you (of course not the ones of the museum but the other) there's almost nothing over the car except a small coat of dirt especially over the wheels... So Dirty that car could quickly mean making too much wheatering and ruin the job... :crying:
that's too perfect to be wheatered ! :naughty:

Thanks for your nice words! I absolutely love this hobby because of your support and camaraderie!
rallymaster, yesterday I was ready to put some dirt in the car, and I had an idea: I have another kit of this Peugeot, so I will build another (not so detailed) replica to use it to build a rally diorama! So, this baby will stay clean!!

Great job, nice details, it would be a pity to make it dirty.
I think your idea of building an other one, not so detailed but dirty, maybe with driver, is great
