Built for my boss at work. I used a 1963 Vette from an AMT kit. Only cosmetic difference between a 63' and 64' is the vents on the hood. The 63 had them and the 64' did not. I used a model car garage 63-65 Photo etch kit that had the vents on the fret for the hood. I simply turned them over to expose the smooth side and blended these in to appear solid for the 64' bodystyle. A 1966 Monogram convertible kit was used to rob the wheels and tires from. Plus a few other parts. Overall I am pleased although the AMT kit is nothing short of a promo kit with an engine! Paint on the model is actual leftover Daytona blue from the restoration of the 1:1 car. On to the pics:
Here is the real car I built off of:

It is not necessary to point out every little thing you see as a flaw.
Dave, I'm sure your boss will love it.

For a present for the boss: enough details, well done ;-)) (I guess I wouldn´t make such a gift for my boss ... )

Very clean build! A couple of questions - did you redo the chrome on the bumpers, and might the rims have been from the '67 convertible kit? (Not trying to nit, but I'm looking for a set of those rims.) Really nice work!

Pretty nice build! Yea, no matter what others say, your boss is going to love having a model of his 1:1 scale to sit on his desk.
Considering the quality of the AMT kit, I probably would have gone for using a '67 'vert for most of the parts, but you did a nice job.
(My company is doing a new product release called "Stingray", so my shelf over my desk is all Corvette models right now)
