transmission slipping???

i was told that my transmission was starting to slip and im not real sure wat that means. how can you tell if its slipping and how do you correct it?

If it is a manual they mean the clutch is slipping. If it is an automatic it means the power generated by the engine isn't getting to the drive wheels because the clutch packs are too worn to adhere together to transmit the power. Try some transmission additive or replace the transmission.

i agree, but the additive is just like putting on a band-aid... you're just buying some time before you need an R & R...

He's right. The additive is not a permanent fix. It will just buy you some time before you have to replace the transmission.
