Hi Guys!
I guess this topic sort of concerns GP's too.
I'm not getting any responces over at the bonneville forum.
Can someone chime in on their opinions?
New GP or New Bonneville?

I was leaning towards a new bonneville but then I found out its only offered with the Crappy Northstar motor.

Wasn't the Bonny GXP only offered in 2004 and 2005? I'd pass on it because of the Northstar engine. How about the 2003 and under SSEI model with the L67?

Yep, your right Bob, only in 2004 and 2005. I'd like an SSEI, but I'm afraid that a 2003 isnt "new" enough and I'd have a lot of the same problems that I had with the GTP.
Now that I found out about the Northstar, I no longer what a Bon Bon GXP.

Newer Bonnevilles have a lot of electrical/wiring issues due to using GM's serial bus network protocol. I'd avoid one myself. It's about to be a moot point anyhow, with GM's announcement their discontinuing the Pontiac badge.

I'm curious Tim why do you find the Bonny so appealing even though you decided not to get one. Actually IMO like the Buick Regal and LeSabre it looks like an old farts car. The other problem is it is too heavy compared to the GM "W" body cars. Personally I'd think you would be better off with a 4X4 pick up truck. :uhoh:....

Well, the older ones are not to appealing at all. Someone who works in a nearby business to mine drives one every day. Its the newest style, black, gxp, and it looks really really nice. Now that I found out the GXP's have the junkstar motors I'm not so much into Bonny's no more. If I could drop a 5.3 V8......
I also would like a 4x4 silverado, and a house..... (so much money)

Bonneville might look like an old farts car, but they are pure luxury and big safe cars! We bought a used 2000 Bonneville for our teen daughter to drive. That car saved her life not once - but twice! Two terrible car crashes, neither her fault. Insurance company paid mega bucks the first time for it to be put back together again. She drove it a couple more years, and then wham someone crashed head-on into her in an intersection. The car was totalled, all she got was a broken foot and survived to tell about it. I love Pontiacs.
