Warning Lights Mystery

Earlier this week I had the ABS and gas cap warning lights come on and they stayed on that day and the next. No issues with either system that I could tell. Popped the hood, looked around, and saw the battery "life eye" was red. Replaced the battery, lights went out and have not returned.
