97 S10, broken hazard switch

Oh boy. I have a big problem that I'm hoping has an easy solution.
My hazard switch broke off and is also lost. This would not be a big deal but the hazard lights are currently "on".
I know that replacement involves the entire signal switch assembly. I really don't want to replace it.
Is there any way possible to turn off (disable) the hazard lights so I don't have to disconnect the battery cable every time I turn off the truck?
Thanks.

Not sure what the hazard switch in a 97 S10 looks like but i owned a car that was missing the switch and found that a fine point perm marker fit into the hole perfect to turn off the hazards. Infact i actually cut off the end (oppisite side of the marker tip) left about 1 1/2 to 2" and jammed it in there and made a new switch worked great and always passed safty inspections.
not sure if this helps any but its an idea.

In the "How-to" section of the Blazer forum, is a thread on how to replace the broken hazard switch.
The pics aren't showing for me, but in essense, what you do is take a needle nose plyers, and pull the broken switch straight out.
Pulling out the broken switch should stop the flashing.
Pop in a new switch (only available from GM dealers - I think), fixed.
Here's a link with the GM part number. Chevy, buick, or Pontiac dealers should carry them. Call your local dealer.
