Hello everybody!
This is my first reply. I think that Tamiya Metallic Black TS-40 is the closest color for that COOL New Beetle.

Yea, I was thinking of gun metal too, but not very sure if it really is exactly the same colour.

Thanks for your suggestions.
I guess I'll have to get the paints and try them out myself.

This color is called "Metalised Platinum Grey". This color is pearly and it's clearer than Gun metal. Try to mix Silver in Gun metal to give it a lighter touch and add some pearl in your clear coat.

Thanks for the tip.
But I don't understand what you mean by add some pearl in the clear coat.

I don't think he meant pearl white. By mixing clear coat with pearl white and coating over the already painted gun metal, it doesn't sound right to me.

Here is the meaning:
with automotive car paints as Dupont or Sikkens, ... ( it's what's available here in Belgium), you can mix in your clear coat some dropps of white pearl. It will give you a pearly look of your colour.
You can do it on this kind of "Light Gun Metal". In fact, it's what is done one the real beetle.
Be careful to not overload with "pearl" or your clear coat will become too "white" and you'll have a crappy effect.
I know 'cos my wife's VW Polo is painted this colour.

Thank you for the little info. Sounds quite complicated to me.
But I guess I'll just use light gun metal or gun metal and play around with the base colour.
