New guy needs infomation

Hello everybody,
I'm about to place an order w/ Hiroboy this week
I found a set of Crazy Mod Scribing tools.
My ? is, is there any kind of a handle for these
& how well do they work compared to the backside of a #11 blade?

Welcome, new guy.

They should fit fine in #11 handles. I haven't used this set, but other Crazy Modeler saws I've used have fit fine in Xacto #11 and razor saw handles.

Couple weeks ago I went to a model show in St. louis,Mo.
& Kevin w/ Strada Sports was there so I bought the scribers from him.
Couple days ago I got to use them, let me tell yall thay are nice.
I have some much more control cutting out doors with them, better
then the # 11 Blade. Well worth the $10.00

I have their saws. They're a very nice product and an excellent value. I really like my Squadron Scribing Tool; it's much better than the back of a #11 Xacto blade. Given the quality of Crazy Modeler's saws, I'd expect his scribing tool to also be excellent.

Let us know if you agree with Jimmy09 about it.

I find that the point of a #11 blade is muuuch too fragile to be used as a scriber- often bits of the point will break off and lodge in whatever you're scribing, and then the blade is useless for things like cutting masking tape or BMF.

For fine scribing, I use a high quality hand sewing needle (not a sewing pin) chucked in a pin vise. Only a small lenth (1/8" or so) should protrude from the chuck so the needle doesn't flex and bounce/skip- but it stays sharp for years, and makes for a very precise scriber.

Sewing needle leaves too much shavings and jagged edges IMO. Maybe I was using it wrong.
My LHS sells very good quality original Exacto #11 blades in packs of 200 for only $19.99. Its cheaper, and honestly, I never found them fragile.

well i used the back of the #11 blade to cut thru my CLK GTR door and front cowl with only 1 piece of blade and no breaking at all... so id say its not fragile at all as well... hehe
