Suspension Questions

So, I need to replace the lower ball joint on the right side of my t-bird, is there any special procedures I should do while completing this task, I understand that i need special tools and have them.

Also I plan to replace the rear shocks/struts because the seals are leaking, should I have an alignment done? or will a direct replacement be all that has to be done?
