95 LTC.

Air compressor keeps blowing fuses. Did a simple soap/water check of the lines/bags and no leaks.

I'm figuring the compressor is on its last leg and going to replace it, but don't have the time to wait around for someone to ship me a new/remanufactured. I found a guy parting out a 96 Mark VIII with less than 50k on the odometer so I figured that the compressor wouldn't have a lot of wear. I'm just curious to know if the compressors are universal and if the one from the Mark 8 will fit on my LTC.

Any responses greatly appreciated.

Its something to think about if your car is a keeper.

You might beable to use a Air cond vacuum system to clean system out.

Yep!!!!!

The compressor motor is fried or piston in pump is stuck. I don't have any interchange info on that pump. It might be the same, or might not. You could always take your pump over to that guys house and match it up. Most discount auto parts stores sell the springs for 80 bucks, then you don't have to worry about that stupid pump or air bags. I've got a good pump left for town cars that will fit your 97. Let me know if you want it , I'll take 60.00 Plus shipping for it.
