I just had the APEXi VAFC installed in my 2K Prelude and I want some imput as to what the optimal VTEC settings would be as well as the optimal A/F settings.Other than the VAFC I'm running stock.Any imput would help.Thanx..:bonghitte

Dyno the thing.

Then where the torque crosses your horsepower, set it.

You will need the dyno graph for this.

You could take other's dyno graphs and do this if they had a stock prelude. However the altitude may effect this, so I would go based on your area and car.

Maybe I´m wrong but I think a VAFC won´t do anything on a stock engine. You´ll need at least a few mods if you want to see a (small) power gain.
Please let me know if I´m wrong! ;)

Well, yes. You are right. However he has one, so we will make the best of it and go by what I say. I do work for one of the most recognized import sources.

i haven't seen any power gains the only thing that has been a positive has been the vtec engagment points,i'm new to the whole import scene and did not know that i would need to get it dyno tuned, now should i have it tuned with no modifications or wait till i've put in the cai and the exhaust?all imput is appreciated.

IMO you should definetly wait because like we´ve already said you won´t see a real gain with a VAFC on a stock engine. Do you plan to get any other mods beside the CAI and exhaust?

my plans are to upgrade all the internals and go with a turbo kit within the next year.what would be your suggestions?

I took it to mean you already have the unit. It will not matter if you put it on a.s.a.p or later. I do agree, that you will see a larger increase if you tune it w/ the parts on the car, and with the turbo setup you wish to acheive I have high hopes for you.

Fuel and Vtec are the functions of this specific Apexi unit. The fuel aspect of the unit wont matter if you get an intake, but when you move to forced induction or N20, it will REALLY matter. The VTEC aspect is just how I said... Ask around at your local tuning shop for the Dyno info amd where to go.
