I have a 97 z28 camaro and i've been having heating issues. I just got the heads replaced and it was still running bad. My brother found that the guy didn't get number 5 plug wire on and he put it on. Then he drove it to our house and parked it. I came home ten minutes later and there was antifreeze all over the ground. He said it was never over 210. I let it cool off and filled it up and bleed it. Was going to take it around the block and then come check the tranny fluid. I got halfway around the block and stopped at a stop sign and the oil pressure dropped and it started to die. I gave it gas and it shot back up to 40. It did this when i pulled into the driveway too. I started it the other day and in park it showed 42lbs and then when i put it in Reverse or dirve it drops to the red. any ideas? The car was also shifting hard when my brother and i drove it. He said he got on it and it wouldn't shift to second until he let off the gas. Any ideas on these problems?

Sounds like maybe the opti spark got wet. When they did the heads they probably didn't getthe water pump on right and it leaked onto the opti spark. If it did get wet, it is trashed. I'd see about having a real mechanic look at it and diagnose it. If you paid a garage to do the heads and they didn't putthe pump on right and caused all ofthis. Get them to make it right and DON'T pay them for anything. If they refuse, get a lawyer.

I took my car to a local town guy that does the work in his garage, i was told to go there by a friends dad. The friends dad didn't think he did anything wrong and thinks i may of had more problems before. I took my car to chevy and they told me that the main bearing is spinning and that the motor was no good. They didn't pull the oil pan so i was wondering if its ruined or could it be salvaged? The chevy guy thought the mechanic might of used grit paper to clean off the gunk when he pulled heads and intake and that the sand fell down and ruined the main bearing. Im not really sure but i just wasted alot of money and am back where i started. Thanks for the advice.

If you spun a main bearing, then it is just about toasted. The crank, and block are probably trashed.
