Cranks fine. Coil is good, cleaned the distributor cap terminals. fuel pressure is okay. What do I check next? Temperature sensor? I saw on some thread where if that went bad the car wouldn't start. Crank position sensor? How do I get trouble codes from the car? Ignition on but not in start? Where is the diagnostic connector? Sorry for so many questions but this car died in my driveway and it belongs to a kid who lives 25 miles away and I am trying to give him some help with it.
I know a lot about cars. Just changed a fuel pump in my 92 Corsica and replaced the timing chain and gears, fresh tune-up, exhaust, tires and just had to remove the steering wheel because it started to smoke in the column (turn signal switch was going bad and I caught it in time to clean the terminals and put it back together). I had one catch fire and put it out with a cup of coffee in my old chevy truck. I don't have a Haynes Manual on Subaru's but for vehicles that I own. Just trying to help a person in need. Thanks. Robert

How many cylinders is this car?
In my 92 Loyale I have EA82 engine. The test connector (green) is under the hood. Driver side, next to the fuel filter. You plug both green connectors. Remove the knee bolster (6 screws) under the steering wheel. You will see a square box - ECU. There is a small light on the ECU. They call it O2 sensor. Turn the key to on, ENGINE NOT RUNNING! Count O2 sensor blinks. Short and long. It will give you a trouble code.
You can find a lot of information at www.ultimatesubaru.org. Go to Older Generation of Subarus.
There is a site for XT6 as well but I do not remembet the URL. You will be able to find it at the above mentioned site.
Good luck,
Sam
