In previous posts you have talked about the shift problems associated with the transaxle in these vehicles. In one of the posts you talked about changing the trans fluid and using SUPER TECH DEXRON VI.
I have a 99 Century with 93000 miles and I will soon change the trans fluid and filter. My question is how do you drain the torque converter or do you just leave that oil in it and also is the Dexron VI compatible with the Dexron III that was left in the converter.

Thanks for your help

With your mileage I would just do a pan drop service (ATF and screen filter). The only way to get the ATF out of the torque converter and lines to the radiator and radiator is via a flush or fluid exchange service which I would not recommend unless you are having serious issues.

The Dex VI is fully compatible with the old Dex III and can be safely mixed. Also, you do not have to use the cheaper Wally World Supertech Dex VI. You can use the GM labeled Dex VI or even other brands on the market. Good luck!
