heh. yea. ive had my license for about 3 weeks now, and my crappy shadow 2.2...well, we (me and drake) pulled up to a light after church and some kid in a red saturn pulls up, revving his heart out, flipping the bird, everything. so drake says "you know how to column shift?" i had no idea, but he dropped it into first and the light turned green, we both barked and went. got up to about 35 and im a nose ahead, then drake shift into 2...hit about 50 and hes at my rear door, and then i shift into drive and hes at my bumper...we pull up to the next light and he takes a right into the walmart, still flipping us off...man it was pretty great. i cant wait til i get a real car to street race in...

just swap in a 2.4 liter turbo motor for your car. you got a k car. those things are wicked fast (the turbo ones atleast) anyhow, you can also brake and torque to get a better gun out.

Man, just drop a forged 2.2L in there and put a new Garrett GT series turbo. The 2.2L isn't all that bad, just needs a boost. :)

Nice kill!

isn't column shifting pointless, and provides no gain in 1/4 mile time? Also wouldn't it only hurt your car?

column shifting on a auto is just like shifting on a manuel. if you just floor it, it won't stay in gear as long as you want to. so therefore if you stay in each gear till red line or near then shift, the car is actually faster, and if you don't believe me, try this experiment. just go launch hard in Drive then on the next light launch on D1 then you'll notice a pretty big difference in the way the car jumps.

Good Kill,
Just be carefull out there, you don't want to lose that license after only 3 weeks of fun.

Column shifting is a very easy way of messing up an auto trans. A higher stall does the same thing with less risk of damage.

LMAO, there is no benifit from column shifting. When you push the long peddle to the floor while the car is in D, it will rev to red in every gear.

before you guys start flaming ech other you should know that computer will decide shift points differently in each car. Some will redline in drive some will not.

you can chip most cars so they'll shift at redline.
