Hello, I've got a 2001 Grand Prix that just recently developed this problem. I noticed it on a long drive home last week when I got onto the interstate. Once the car hit about 40mph, it started shaking badly towards the front end. Shaking side to side.
Since then the problem has gotten worse. Here's what I've noticed.
- It ONLY shakes during acceleration. If I let off the gas, it quits completely.
- Shakes from around 40mph up to around 60mph
- Shakes from side to side
Any ideas where to start? I'm not much of a mechanic so will most likely have to take it in.

You possibly have a CV joint that is bad, or possibly a bad hub assy. I would also get your tires checked, make sure that they are balanced.

Add to Docs list the lower control arm bushings and outer tie rods as things to inspect.

Doc and Rich are right on top of this one. Inspect the lower motor/trans mount while your down there.
