I'm wondering why this (and not the 206S or better SP) and if it would be and improoved re-release of the old Airfix/Heller mold...

The 206S is strange. I know Fujimi did a resin built up version of the car, but it didn't sell very well. I wonder if the kit is resin? They did do several
resin kits 2 years ago.

Would rather have seen Alfa MiTo than Fiat 500. While many would disagree, I don't care for the 500's looks. At least Fujimi can get licenses from Fiat. Now where's my Alfa 8C!

Sadly there are already at least three companies making 8C's in 1/24...diecast :crying: and not a one of them are selling in the US :disappoin

Go on ebay and pick up one of the Alfa's on European ebay. I have the Cararama and Welly's Alfa 8C and MITO. They are as good if not better than most of the Fujimi kits. I pulled the paint off them and turned the 8C into a spider.
Go to www.kaz43.fotki.com (http://www.kaz43.fotki.com)
and look under Ferrari Expo 2008 for the Alfa 8C photos.

Lancer EVO X finally.
Forget Aoshima R35 Spec V; Fujimi has that one coming as well. Fujimi GTR is the best one of all.
They also have a club sport variant. That pretty much kills the crappy resin one we saw here recently

Yes; historically we see the new stuff show up on internet retailer lists a month or so before a particular hobby show. Seems like we usually get announcements from the Japanese model companies roughly 3X per year. Expect more late summer.

Great news for the 206.
You say?
There are still plastic 206 C in the market, looks like Marketing peoples aren't worried to invest million dollars doing great molds, they have money enough, they're extremely worried about the subject, and looks like they try ever to "do less worst possible" with low risks insthead to be creative and do something new..
I love the 206 Competizione, but why not a prototype (racing proto, 206S or SP) ? Yep I know Hiro would do it in '10 but why care a multimedia manufacturer?
Hopefully new 206C would be better than aged Airfix/Heller, with a V6 dino in the belly, but since I'm black-hearted and suspicious I think they're using a 206C body on a street 246 chassis, hopefully not, hopefully they give us a great spaceframe ;) :D

To be honest the Airfix/Heller/Nitto/etc kits are poor, no make that very poor.
I doubt Fujimi will bring out a worse kit than those ones, not after the great kits we got recently from them.

If they do a good job on the chassis that may allow for several Dino transkits to be made. This really does not make sense to me unless they really love the car. Jim, the owner of the real Dino is a very nice guy who
will be happy to hear this. Maybe they can talk Jim into letting them do his
P4/5 in a 1/24th kit also!!

I also think the 206 Competizione is a bit of a long shot; it's a cool car historically though it's odd looking from a number of angles, Jim says in the video of the car the spoilers do nothing for the performance, the styling of the car is awkward compared to the Dino 206 S and 206 SP variants. I suspect Fujimi will eventually do them all, it's just odd that they start w/the Competizione prototype. That won't stop me from playing designer with it to improve the lines, if I so choose. It's only a model :sunglasse

I think its because this car was used in famous Japanese manga named "Circuit no ookami (Circuit wolf)".
This manga brings "supercar craze" in 1977 and it was first contact between European/American GT cars and Japanese children (including me:p)

Cant wait to see what Hasegawa comes up with to counter the F187, 2007 and Dino 206S. Should be a great year for models!!

Next up: Tamiya's annoucement of the Altima! I hope they price it right, say around $50 or $60.
I can't wait! :sarcasm1:
Enough of those boring old muscle cars, sports cars, F1 cars, hot rods and customs; they should make kits that everybody can relate to. What the world needs now are more Honda Civic and Nissan Sentra models. :evillol:

Pfffft. Why just contemporary relatable machines?
I'll believe they're really serious when they give us an '81 Dodge Aries.
Far as Tamiya's Fairlady/370 goes, well lookie there, positional steering! Alright! Maybe this kit'll be less of a phone-in than Tamiya's 350 was.
Pretty exciting - at least for the six of us looking forward to it...

Yeah, the 370 chassis looks like Tamiya is aware that they called in the chassis on the 350, and went for more of an Aoshimi kind of chassis.
I'm sure Tamiya will do the Aries right on the heels of the Altima 2.5 S. They can borrow the Motormax one to start out with

looks like the F187 and the F2007 are not a rumor anymore. Photos of the prototype models were posted on F1M.com:

Here's my favorite thing from Shizuoka. Fine Molds (http://www.hlj.com/shs09fnmhigh.html) is apparently putting out a 1/20 kit of the Makino V33i (http://www.makino.co.jp/jp/product/tate/v33i.html). Which means that somewhere in Japan, there is a machine that makes plastic models of of a machine that makes plastic models. I can't quite say why this is so strangely compelling. :p

'ang on a minute.
That means we can now model a scene of a modeller making a model.
Does anyone make a 1/480 scale car?
