The red background links on hover

What do you guys think?
Do you like the red background when mousing over the links on AF?
Or was it better before?

I like it as it shows the member where the links are in a post. The first time I came across this I thought something was wrong with my browser

I like it a lot better than the stupid pop-up thumbnails of the linked pages like I run into on other forums and blogs.

Ok, let me be the first to admit sometimes I don't know when I'm over a link. On other sites , not AF, I've come across text that I found to be a link that I didn't know existed. The text appeared the same as other text with no distinguishing features to indicate it was a link. And on AF, some members underline words in their post, and I check to see if they are links, and many times they are not.

HATE it - who doesn't know if they are hovering over a link?I like it as much as stabbing my eye with a icepick.
But I'll go with what the majority wants. I'll get used to it.
But one thing I noticed is that it does not refresh as it should. For example (In Internet Explorer, everyones favorite browser  )...
Go back to the list of threads in COT.
Click on the first non-sticky topic (right now its the Choices Game thread).
Naturally the browser takes you to the thread, now hit the back button and the choiced Game thread is still highlighted in red and if you hover over any other thread link it also turns to red.
TS out (getting a icepick for my eye)

It's hard to believe how many issues IE has compared to FireFox... the simple CSS scripting to accomplish this is correct....

Doesn't really matter to me, it's a little different now, but before long, I won't even notice it.

How can you hate it? If I go by Firefox, which is all I use for AF, all that has changed is a red background, not exactly something to go into a conniption about. Deal

I dont like it, pretty obnoxious for a mouse over.

I like the idea, but maybe the bright red is too bright. Maybe something less bright would be better.
How about another poll for which color?

The 80s were never cool.
Ever.
Not even used in a retro cool way on a website.
It's just not cool.
It's like having a really cool thing that is so cool, only its really shit because its not there, instead some really uncool thing from the 80s was used instead.

Fine by me. Actually it's insignificant enough to me I just remembered I have to go rearrange my sock drawer.

When you have a visited link (purple) and you rollover to red, it's hard to read. Plus any rounded buttons are then glowing red underneath in the square manner. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not a big fan of it. Just a thought. Not a fan

I don't think the color change itself is bad, but the bright red color is a little garish.

I don't particularly care for it, and I completely agree about having it a more subtle color. I hated it at first, but am getting used to it. Highlighting=fine, red=bad

I was caught off gaurd when I first noticed it.
I dont particarly like red...
But I did notice it was nice on a thread with multiple pages, I could tell which page I was hovering over better... :2cents:
Oh yeah, I guess I like it.

The Blue isn't any better.
I remember when roll over colour changes we're first used on websites.
They used a solid block of primary colour.
It looked like shit then, and it looks like shit now.

Well young'n what was wrong with the old set up?
If you absolutly must have a colour change, then simply change the text colour to lighter or darker shade.
