Daylight driving lights

For those more technical smarts than I have, my 99 venture DRL will come on and operate the park lights properly (Thats all); when I go to put foot on brake, the turn signal indicators(Both) on the dash light up(slightly), if I do this with the turn signals on(Right side only), they not only come on and blink faster, but the bulbs on the rear of the van ALL flash(Except the park lights which remain steady), and I'm even talking about the REVERSE lights doing this. (On right rear corner, outside of van)When the turn signals flash(WITH DRL active), the park and turn signals alternate flashing. The only place the reverse lights are activated are the PRNDL switch on the trans.(Right ?). Could the DRL module be bad, could I have a bad ground on the right side only, could it be a short?(ALL bulbs on both lamp assemblies(R & L)have been replaced with new bulbs). The DRL on the right FRONT corner work properly, its only the Right rear corner thats giving me trouble. If I disable the DRL via the fuse box, do the lights still work manually via the dash switch????

I would start by checking the rear "boards"where the sockets are that the bulbs fit into,(in the rear of the van.) They are known to have issues with corrosion due to water infiltration. Once that occurs a whole host of electrical issues develop, with turn signal operation,ABS/TCS lights, cruise control operation,to the actual proper functioning of the rear bulbs themselves to name a few.If there are signs of corrosion, check to see the extent of damage. Sometimes if it's minor, it can be cleaned up. More severe cases require replacement of the boards ( usually found on eBay.)

Well, after taking off the tail light assembly off like suggested and unplugging to check for corrosion, here's what was found. Corrosion on the center post. The pin on the top row is the ground. That explains the strange symptoms only after a few days after i plugged the assembly back in. It's what I guess you call a "Floating ground"; the corrosion was causing the ground to be insulated from the contact on the plug and harness, causing weird syptoms. Also, my ABS light hasn't shown up again either. After cleaning the corrosion with a small flat blade screwdriver and some WD-40, everything has been working properly now for almost 2 weeks straight.http://i39.tinypic.com/2mwhwk1.jpg
