96 Sable Attempting to turn over

I have a 96 sable and it seems that when I attempt to turn the engine over it will not turn over but it is getting power. It also makes a high pitched sound during the process of cranking over the engine . I had issues with the starter several months ago but tapped on the starter and it has continued to start up since. Don't know if the engine is seized or what. I had my wife get in the vehicle and turn the key and it sounds like it wants to start but it has a high pitched squeal for the duration of the engine turning over.

I believe your starter finally went out on you. Replace the starter motor and solenoid and that should complete your fix
