Installing a short shifter?

I just bought a short shifter and it didn't come with instructions. Anyone want to tell me how to?

Short shifter are quite easy, it was my first mod, and only the second time i ever worked on a car and it only took my like an 1hr, the second install was only like 20 min. I dont remember everything, but basically you just need to:

take off the shift knob

take off the entire center console

underneather the car where the shifter is there is like 2 or 4 bolts (10 mm i think), just take them off

then i think basically just put the new one in, make sure you have the angle pointing torward the rear of the car, cuz if it faces front you'll hit the dash when you shift

I think this is basically everything, its quite simple, if i left anything out plz someone lemme know, and if you have any more questions lemme know

So I have to jack the car up and get underneath it to do it?

Yeah, definitley make sure you put jack stands under it too. you may only need to jack the front, but its hella easier to just up whole car up, if you can. The short shifter drops out under the car, you cant pull it up through. Also, if you dont have new bushings, make sure you dont tear up the one on your shifter now, cuz u'll need to reuse it.

You might also have to take down the front part of the exhaust to get to the bolts. Other than that it is easy

Dont listen to that moron, he dont know wat he's talking about, :D , j/k. Thats a good idea....in theory, but if the stock exhaust is still on chances are it'll be rusted to hell and will take way too much time to try and get off. As long as you dont have big beafy muscular arms you'll be aight, at least i think so, and since im a freaking genious, go with me on this. ;)

are we a little violent today. reallistacally though all that you would have to take off is the 2 bolts that hold it onto the flange. So difficult I think not. But I Just too mine off due to the fact that it is Easier:D

Sry, your right, that was harsh, im just upset cuz my car still aint working right. Anyways, I was going from personal experience cuz on my old crx the bolts were so rusted and corroded, then had to be torched off, which took an 1hr and made them usless. So yeah, if the bolts will come off, and your having problems with the short shifter, then go ahead and move it.

My thrid mod was my short shifter, and it was a pretty easy installation. I have a B&M shifter and in the instructions it said to remove the bolts on the exhaust just to make it easier on yourself. Remeber to get some Lubricant for the shifter. It is a special type of lube called lithium grease. You have to put this on the ball of the shifter where it sits in the boot. Ohh and make sure not to get any dirt in the rubber shift seal. That's about it.
