here's what i've been working on since taking a break from the itr. as the airbrush is being used by a friend of mine, i can't do any painting... just bodywork and prepping. so... i decided to work on this: a civic si from revell. in my opinion, this kit could be alot better. then again, that's what i thought about the itr too. i just don't think it captures the lines on the civic quite right. i can't put my finger on it but it just donesn't have that 'look'. anyway, i've just been playing around with the kit and trying to figure out what to do with it... then i came up with this... not really fond of the rear bumper but we'll see how it evolves:rolleyes: this thing still need alot of work, as with the itr, but here it is. i placed the itr next to it just for comparison.

personally, i think the civic is kinda blocky, long and narrow. maybe its just me and that its currently sitting next to my widebody itr. anyway, comments welcome.

i guess i just got bit by some inspiration and motivation:D thanks for the comments. it's good for a beginning customizer (i'm aspiring to be like FOTW!! you're my hero!!).

but anyway, i'm just not too fond of the rear... looks kinda big... maybe i'll start work with the other bumper and see where that takes me.

as for tips, just jump right into it and start that learning curve!

I can see that the holes on both sides are out of proportion. other wise, i like it.

thanks for pointing it out the holes... i'l take a closer look and see what i can do to correct it.

edit:

i took a closer look at it and it seems that there are variations in the thickness of the plastic. that's what's giving the impression that they're off. the edges are there and i *think* they're proportional. maybe after the next primer coat i'll be able to make a better call.

i just used a plain old file to level off anything that's bumpy. simple as that.

itr in csc = more time for the civic :D

wanted a simpler body kit for the coupe that wasn't too curvy nor elaborate... i think this looks good while maintaining simplicity...

well.. two reasons for this update...

first i think i got the final look of this kit dialed in. the rear end needed a bit of something so i shaved the badges and added a rear lip on the trunk lid. it now has a bit of a european look to it.

secondly, the digicam is going away for an uncertain length of time so i decided to get as much use out of it as i can;) so until i get the urge to work on this kit again or the digicam 'magically' reappears in my proximity, this kit is going back up on the shelves in its current state

i know its a lot of pix but what's a progress thread without pix right?:D
