My car is a 92 Civic Hatchback CX obviously from the title. Anyways, my car starts sometimes, and when it does start up, it does it no problem..starts instantly. I guess when it feels like it. People suggested it was the starter, but that was recently replaced. My friend says it might be the neutral control safety switch or the clutch interlock switch. I'm clueless :eek7:.
Anyone know whats up?

so it will not turn over at ALL sometimes, or it turns over but just won't start sometimes?
just want to clear that up before trying to help.
you could always try to start it in neutral (assuming its an automatic) because park and neutral both allow the starter to engage.

Oh sorry should have been a little clearer, the times when it doesn't start it turns over and makes a loud click and that's it.
Its a manual too sorry :p.

sounds like the solenoid is acting up. If you just replaced it there should be a warranty on the starter.

i wish, but the starter i replaced was ordered from a ebay seller and the warranty was only 30 days and that's long passed. I got it from ebay because the ones from the local auto parts stores didn't fit.
Anyways, thanks for your input. I'll look for a solenoid
