'96 XJS; dash and running lights out

At first, I thought the combination was like the old GM products, where no dome light was an indication that your running lights were out as well...usually the fuse. Fuse OK; has anyone had this problem?

Update: Removed the associated "ice cube" relay, and banged it a few times on the valve cover....must have had sticky coil inside because now everything's working again.
