Fkin focus

ok.. so wifey's lil 2000 spi sohc sits nicely on the drive.. purring... so she puts it in drive.. the engine tone changes slightly as the tranny bites and it gets ready to cruise off... Well.. she turns on the defroster/ heater and that lil old engine tone goes on a whoops upside its head.. the tone changes from a purr to a sick old ford cortina..

So.. any ideas as to why when she turns on the defroster/ heater her engine acts like it wants to stall.. I mean it turns smooth for a few seconds and then dies like it wants to stall..rekicks itself.. smooth.. putters etc..

plugs an wires are newish.. did them before the winter set in back in dec..I'm not clueless... just never came across this problem before.. need to get it sorted be froe she drags me before the judge.. lolol

Sounds like the ignition is starving on juice when the blower is turned on. There could be 2 reasons. 1. the blower motor is worn out but still turning and is grounding the armature on the fields. 2. The battery terminals are corroded and need to be tightened and cleaned.

The air conditioner turns on in Defrost mode. It's probably the compressor loading down your little SPI especially in the cold.

change the plugs wires. and get back to me


after all can you rmember the last tune up?
