I was back up at a gas station..door fell open and as I was accelerating it connected with one of those cement dividers...the door went ALL the way back...I was able to bring back to the point where it should be close..but it wont close at all, I'm thinking its off of track..

but how expensive is it to replace doors on these cars? Im hoping its some way my mechanic can put the door back on track, I dont mind the dents in it...I just want it to be able to close without the bungees chord.

ok it'll cost $1101.80 to get it fixed at maaco..so im in the process of trying to find a door at the junkyard...no luck since most junkyards arent open on saturdays...

A replacement door is going to be best in this case. Straightening that door is going to be more work than it is worth, and certainly more work than refinishing a different door to match. You might be lucky enough to save the fender.

This might also be a good time to touch up a few other problem areas of the body if any exist.

yea thats what the guy at maaco said...to just replace the door..but the price he quoted me was alot more than what i actually paid for the car...in the process of looking for a replacement door online, then i have to wait until tomorrow to call around to some of these junkyards

i found door for $200 except for it is missing the bottom hinge on the door, so I'm contemplating purchasing that door and just searching for the hinge..hopefully I'll make some progress by at least tuesday...

Is the lower hinge on your existing door beyond using?

not sure, the door hasnt been removed yet. its still attached to the car. but the maaco guy said because it was parallel to the hood of my car, that i'd probably need all new hinges since the hinges are only made to go but so far
