isn't here a way to get error codes by turning the key a number of times or something, or do i have to take it to the shop and have them hook up to a computer.

Thanks

there is no way to cycle a key to pull a code. you will have to check in your area some auto parts stores will pul the code for free. if you get your code let me know what it is and maybe i can help you.

If you turn your key on, wait 10 seconds, turn it off, wait 2 seconds, turn it back on, wait 30 seconds, turn it off, wait 3 seconds, turn it back on, wait 4 seconds, turn it off, wait 24 seconds, turn it on, no longer than 12 seconds and no shorter than 11 seconds, turn it off, then turn it back on and off 23 times as fast as you can, turn it back on, turn your windshield wipers on, flash your headlights three times, and honk your horn 8 times, spray your windshield wiper fluid, turn the hazzard lights on, and hong your horn 7 times, you will have some neighbors thinking you are crazy.

JK, I just wanted to say that whoever told you about cycling the key isn't an idiot you can do that on some vehicles, nothing like I said above, I had a dodge you put the key on, turn it off, turn it back on, turn it off, then back on and leave it then the check engine light will flash the codes. Won't work on yours though just go to advance or autozone to get he computer scanned.
