Electrical problem
1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
The car is a 98 olds cutlass. The ignition switch where the keys goes in had recently locked up. I bought a used one from a junkyard and installed it correctly. The engine will turn over and try to start but it wont ever keep running. The theft system light flashes all the time. Is there any way possible that that can be bypassed or reset? Is that what is causing it not to run? I tried a screwdriver on the battery ground but it didnt help. Any advice or answers would be gratly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry for the delayed reply! Give this a try;
Turning the key to the "on" position, leaving it on for 11 mins no less.
Turn off for at least 30 secs
Repeat the above up to 3x, or untill the security light stops flashing.
