Hi,
I have a 1993 LeSabre and it might be in the same place.
My Camshaft Position Sensor is on the side of the engine right above the Vibration Damper and somewhat below the alternator. It's kinda pointing downwards.
Hope that helps.
George

It is located on the front cover, which is behind the harmonic balancer. Looking at the harmonic balancer, it is up and slightly to the left and has a two-wire harness connected to it. The sensor reads a magnet that spins around on a timing chain pulley. This magnet often disintegrates on these cars. It may need replacing. If so, you CAN do a workaround method of basically gluing (with JB Weld?) the new magnet to the pulley. http://bellsouthpwp.net/p/a/padgett46/cammag.htm
If it were me I'd take the cover off and replace the magnet and timing chain and gears. That's because I would want to know it would be likely to stay working for years to come.

If you are getting a reported error for a CMP, make sure the problem is not in the ICM (and its grounding). The CMP and CKP signals are routed through the ICM and converted to clean digital pulses by the ICM for the ECM/PCM. Problems with the ICM (and its grounding) can generate the CKP or CMP error codes even if the sensors are just fine.
