Stupid DIC question

:confused:Okay I have a 01 grand prix gt 3.8 n/s. I want to add a GTP DIC from ebay for $60. It says it fits 97-2003 but the part came from a 99 gtp. It has a trac button the same as mine. I want to know how long will it take me to install this new digital DIC. I pulled mine out and looked for the "extra" wires that some say many gt's have but no shuch luck so i have to splice the new DIc into the old wires. How long does this take and what level of difficulty would you guys rate this.

compliments of Tim (TBlake) here is a nice detailed write up. never tried this myself...kinda wanted to try putting a digital DIC in my SE with the boost gauge in it, since my boost gauge is in my center counsel underneath the radio.
