I've been playing with the idea of changing from AWD to FWD in my eclipse.

I was just wondering if anyone has information on this. I have a 91 engine in a 95 gsx body. I have seen a few things about FWD to AWD and it seems most people believe it better to just buy the FWD body instead. Is this true for an AWD to FWD conversion too?

I'm looking for this car to be an almost a daily driver with some speed . . . is there much difference between the AWD and FWD besides take off and acceleration at higher speeds? my friend says FWD uses less gas? ? ?

its in my understanding that the GS-T has a better top end speed, but thats about it

wait what? you want to get rid of your AWD? AWD is the bee's knee's man! Yes you will get better gas mileage with fwd and it does have a little bit faster acceleration up top (provided it has traction) but thats about it. Most people would prefer awd for the traction issues.
