99 Ford Taurus 3.0 SOHC Engine

Hello,
There is a bypass hose about a 1/4 inch in diameter that comes from the coolant tank and runs on along the top of intake manifold about 10 inches total then it bends 90deg and connects to a metal tube at the rear of the engine in the manifold that leads to the thermostat housing.
On my vehicle this metal tube has corroded and became separated. I called around to some auto parts stores before going to the dealer in order to replace the metal tube but the dealer said that there is no replacement part, the only remedy, they knew. was replace the intake manifold.
I was wondering has anyone else dealt with this issue and if so what was the fix?
Currently I am leaning toward tapping it out and inserting a brass nipple in its place

Fixed! I went to my local hardware store and purchased a 1/8 threaded brass tube, about 3 inches long and a 1/8 pipe tap and thread compound. It tapped out very nicely no drilling and is working like a charm
