How do I change rear shocks on 1997 Galant

Hello friends, I purchased a 97 Galant for my son. It has a broken drivers side rear shock. I bought the haynes manual and it does not match the inside of my trunk. How do I get to the upper shock mounts. Any help and possible diagrams will help. Thanks in advance

The upper shock (strut) mount on my 2003 Galant is behind the back of the back seat.You pretty much have to take out the whole back seat to get to it.Hope this helps.
