You know what I would like to see....

I would like to see a tutorial on how to make body kits. We have already had tutorials on making wings how about body kits now?! I would LOVE it. either that or someone could give me some advice doing it! Thanks :flash:

There is plenty of information on the forum on making body kits and how to work with styrene, putty and the like, just use the forum search function at the bottom right and you are bound to find some useful information.

It's a complicated topic, and no one tutorial will be able to describe the "right" way to do any body kit.

Instead, learn the techniques of using layered plastic card, putty, etc., and these will be your tools in the 'art' of making body kits or whatever...

I had the same question and then its better to just try it yourself then to try to find someone to explain it! Trust me its way easier!

the only way to really learn it to try it out your self. you can get the basic idea from reading threads here but you wont really understand what it takes until you start putting stuff together yourself.

Just one question, do I sculpt out the definition before or after the the putty lines?

All i do for a body kit is use as little stryene as i can cause it is hard to work with. But some people like to work with it and More the power to them. So i just use some sqaure stryene or sheet stryene and place it where needed and then put putty to hold it then add more putty and alow to dry. What do you mean by your question?

what I mean should I sculpt the elevated places before dries or fo I have to have a it raised and sand it into shape after it dries?

True, true. Take Cozmo for example. He made a perfect FAF Supra. Even better it was his first body kit! That just shows you that you have to experiment.

Or throw some styrene on a model and some putty experiment and work through trial and error.

It is how you learn.
