GTP Question Please Help

I have a whining noise I was wondering, if I remove the serpentine belt and start the engine will it cause a check engine light.. The whining is not from my supercharger or my wife lol

removing the belt and starting will not cause a SES light. i would check the power steering, and belt tensioner. could also be your alternator.

i found the problem it was the ac compressor \

i was gonna suggest that too. those arnt cheap either :2cents: glad you found the problem

Off of what engines can thew ac compressor be interchanged from.. I might go to a junk yard and looked for a used one before I shell out the big bucks lol

you didn't include the year of your car, but all 97-03 GTP's use the same a/c compressor.

It is a 2000 I am talking about what other GM cars beside pontiac Grand Prix... Like a 3.1 or 3.4 or 3.8 naturally aspirated engines
